At only 114 calories, this naturally skinny margarita has ZERO artificial sweeteners or additives.
As the site title suggests, I LOVE tequila. I also hate sugary drinks. You won’t find a drink on this site that uses sugar or even simple syrup. For this natural skinny margarita, we’re going to use agave nectar. This is technically a syrup that comes from the agave plant (the same plant tequila is made from). This syrup is sweet, and you only need 1/2 tsp. I use even less sometimes, but if you’re used to restaurant margs you may want to ease into it to find your ideal sweetness level.
Which tequila should you use?
I’ve tried a lot of tequilas. I always use reposado for margs, I don’t care for blanco. Reposado is aged for 2-11 months and has a more smooth taste, while blanco is only aged for 0-2 months.
My favorite tequila is Espolon. It’s a mid range brand with amazing flavor. Casamigos is also delicious, if you’re in the mood to splurge. I won’t recommend a brand aside from these two, because they really are the best I’ve found.
